Cooking and Gastronomy Courses for Universities & Groups at the Ecole des Trois Ponts

Program Details

Sunday

Arrive on Sunday at Lyon-St. Exupery Airport

Transportation by coach organised by Ecole des Trois Ponts. Coach trip takes one and a half hours.

5pm guided visit of the Chateau de Matel

7.30pm Dinner at Chateau de Matel

Monday

8am-8.50am Breakfast


8.50am Departure for Marcigny (40 minutes from Roanne in southern Burgundy) market visit. Marcigny is a sixteenth century medieval village and boasts the largest market in the area.


Visit the world famous Emile Henri cookware shop

Visit J. LeBlanc Huilerie, a workshop specialising in stone-pressed, traditionally produced oil.

12.30pm Lunch at the Chateau

2.30pm Cooking Class

The relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen puts everyone at ease for learning and having a great time. Enjoy a full hands-on experience with personal attention and high quality teaching by your chef. Complete beginners through to Gourmet cooks feel at home. We teach a wide range of easy-to-prepare, one-minute dishes through to that gourmet meal.

Chef Jean-Marc Villard has a wide experience of working in high quality, 1-3 star restaurants in France as well as working in a restaurant in St. Louis in the USA. During the last 10 years he has worked in a world-reknowned institute, where he shared his passion for teaching French cooking to people coming from all over the world.

Hands-on demonstration.

 

Participants sit down to eat their creations at the end of the class.

7.30pm Dinner at the Château.

Tuesday

9am visit of Pilati chocolate & pastry shop,  visit  of "Les halles Diderot" indoor market and Roanne City center.

12.30pm Lunch time cheese class (harmonising wine and cheese) with Laurent Mons.

"Harmonising Wine and Cheese" is a class with Master Cheese-Monger Laurent Mons. The Mons firm won the 2000-01 award for best cheese-monger in France (MOF).

2.30pm Free afternoon

7.45pm Dinner at L'Astrée restaurant, run by gastronomic & creatif Chef Simon Falcoz

 

Wednesday

9am Cooking Class

12.30pm Lunch at the Chateau

2pm Visit to "La Bénisson Dieu", & Charlieu medieval village

7.30pm Dinner at the Chateau

Thursday

9am Cooking class and tasting

12.30pm Lunch at the chateau

2pm Visit to Cotes Roannaises wine area and medieval villages of Saint Haon Le Chatel & St Jean St maurice.

7pm Wine class & dinner at the Chateau during the class.

Friday

9am Cooking Class and tasting

12.45am Lunch at Champlong gastronomic restaurant

Saturday

Breakfast and departure of group by coach to Lyon St. Exupery airport.

Transportation by coach, organised by Ecole des Trois Ponts. Coach trip takes 1 and a half hours. Costs 900 hours for the group for private minibus.

Cost per person based on 2 people sharing a twin room with private shower and toilet, inclusive of all wines, meals and excursions. These prices are for the months of January, February, March and April, for other period of time, please consult us.
