French Language & Gastronomy Courses for intermediate/advanced students

Combine learning French with gastronomy & culture

We specialise in language courses for adults looking for a relaxed setting and good food in a convivial, family atmosphere.

This new course offers students the possibility to concentrate on improving their french language and also appreciate, in a relaxed atmostphere, 'la belle vie française'. At the end of the week you will have experienced all the good things France can offer.

French Language Classes comprise:

  • 19 hours of classes per week
  • Intermediate and advanced levels catered for
  • Small class size - maximum 6 students per class
  • Professional, native French-speaking instructors
  • Study formal and informal French with an emphasis on conversational skills

We ensure that students are put with others of the same ability to guarantee that classes are as homogeneous as possible.

With a maximum of 6 people per class, the small size allows your teacher to give individual attention and cater to the particular difficulties of each person.

Extra Classes on Gastronomy (conducted in French):

  • One wine class where you will learn about the different  regions with wine tasting.
  • One dinner at a gastronomic restaurant in Roanne, where modernity and creativity meet French cuisine
  • One excursion to a variety of medieval villages in the Roanne region.
  • A class on the importance of harmony between food and wine, & on how to choose your wine for a dinner  party.

Throughout the week, active speaking practice is sought at all levels of ability to give confidence in conversational skills. You are positively encouraged to try and speak in real-life situations.

All our teachers are native French instructors who can explain grammar and vocabulary  in English when necessary.

Intermediate and advanced students speak only in French.

Classes are small to offer a maximum of speaking time and personal attention. Because of its importance, emphasis is given to pronunciation during lessons.

You speak French all day long, 14 hours a day and then continue to speak French over a relaxing dinner with other students. The French-only rule during meal times for French-studying guests accelerates understanding through total immersion in the language. What better way is there to learn to speak French than at a French table with good company, food & wine?
